Would expect more from Discovery Channel

This is by far, the worst product I’ve purchased in long time. All previous posts were acurate in describing this product. I too had problems from the get go. We opened the camera Christmas morning and by nightfall the FOUR AA batteries were DEAD! We used for a few minutes in the morning and then later that night. I think my daughter must have had the camera in video mode and pressed record. A couple hours later, I noticed it was dead. The camera had no automatic shut off! Are you kidding me? What four year old would remember to shut the thing off every time! To boot, the camera’s memory must have been used up because when i replased the batteries and turned it on, it FROZE! i couldn’t get it unfrozen to erase the video. Then i realize that the manual only gives intstructions to delete pictures NOT videos! You have to upload the videos to delete them! Problem with that is you have install the software which my I did. After installing the software it would NOt recognize the camera! I re-istalled the software 3 times! This product bites! I would not recommend it to anyone and am returning it.

What a disappointment
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I was so excited to buy this camera for my grandson. It is just horrible. I can’t even use it, and I’m pretty “gadget” savvy. The viewfinders are nearly worthless. It is impossible to discern when or if the camera has taken a picture. The camera switches between video and camera on its own, and you can’t really tell which mode it is in. The quality of the pictures is poor as well. I’m returning this camera to the retailer from whom I bought it, and will try either the Fisher Price Kid tough camera or will buy a simple digital camera for my three year old grandson.

Disappointed
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought this camera for my four year old for Christmas but was greatly disappointed. It’s easy to use, only a few buttons, but you can’t see the pictures and the picture quality is extremely poor. There is not a flash so many of the pictures do not show up. I plan to return this camera to the store today. My four year old was very sad that it wasn’t as nice as her sister’s camera.

Don’t Buy!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Santa brought this camera for my son and daughter for Christmas. My son’s camera worked for about 5 minutes and hasn’t worked since. The picture quality could not be worse! In fact 90% of the time you don’t even know what is in the picture except a blurred bunch of colors. I am very dissappointed! My kids were so excited to have “their own” camera for pictures. Don’t waste you money.

Craptastic Camera
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
My daughter got this for Christmas and not only was the viewer fuzzy (fine – I can live with that) but the camera totally locked up and froze. No way to turn it off without having to unscrew the never ending screws to take the batteries out and replace them. Once she did get a few pictures in there the memory card was full before we could blink. Then the batteries died within half a day and found it impossible to upload the pictures…..needless to say, this is a piece of crap. DO NOT BUY IT. I plan to get my money back.

BUY THE VTECH ONE INSTEAD!!!!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This is a TERRIBLE camera. I loved the idea and agreed for it to be a gift for my 3 yr old from a relative for Christmas. The screen is the size of a postage stamp but I could deal with that if the clarity weren’t so DARK AND UNCLEAR. Unless you are pointing it upto a light you cannot see the screen. My son said to me “mommy what’s wrong with the camera” and then I knew this wouldn’t fly. Luckily he received a VTECH KIDIZOOM camera that is awesome, it’s amazing how much better that one is. HE LOVES IT!!

Fisher Price is better
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
My sone previously had a Fisher Price kids camera, and loved it. Well, The batteries leaked in it and ruined it, so we thought we would get this one, since it has video.

Unfortunately it is not very good. The quality of the pictures is about the same (think old cell-phone or web cam pictures). But this camera has no flash, so indoors pictures are dark and fuzzier.

The video has no sound, which is half the fun of taking videos.

The internal memory is only 16MB, and there is NO ability to add an additional memory card (Fisher Price will let you add a SD card). It will only hold about a dozen pictures or maybe 2 5-second videos.

If the camera were cheaper, then it mightbe worth it, but at almost $50, it’s not worth the price.

Worked less than one day

We opened Christmas gifts early last night. My 5 year-old son was thrilled to have his own camera. The buttons are easy to figure out. The screen is very small and not very sharp. The images taken by the camera are not very good. Now it is locked up. I’m returning it.

Don’t Buy, save yourself $$$ and the let down…

I usually read reviews before I buy a toy like this. But, it was made by a reputable company and was on sale for a good price so I went ahead and bought it. Just now I see how horrible the reviews are, and unfortunately they are all accurate. I only wish I had read them beforehand and saved the money (because I lost the receipt) and saved my kid from the disappointment. The pictures are AWFUL in quality. At first we thought that it may just be the screen on the camera but when we uploaded them to the computer they were just as bad. As far as the body of the camera I think that it is pretty durable, but then again we have only had it for 3 days. My 3 year old daughter was having a lot of fun taking pictures with it until we realized how horrible the image was, then it was not so much fun. I agree with the other review that suggests buying a cheap digital camera instead.

Great idea, horrible camera
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
My son received this as a Christmas gift. He was so excited to have his own camera. However, we have discovered that it is impossible to download the pictures onto the computer. I’ve reinstalled the software twice with no luck. Even better, the company that makes the camera doesn’t have a website that I could find.

I hope I can find the receipt so I can return it.

Please, don’t waste your money on this product. It is a complete disappointment.

Great idea – Poor picture
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Our 4 year old LOVES to take pictures with OUR digital camera. So, it seemed that a great present would be to get her a camera for her very own!

THE GOOD:

+ Very durable

+ Software easily helps you transfer images to computer

THE BAD:

- Only a few buttons, but camera gets ‘stuck’ in video mode too often – very frustrating for a 4-year-old – took me forever to figure out how to get it back to normal

- Holds a maximum of 120 photos (which she can take in a day)

- Viewfinder is very blurry

- Doesn’t work in well a poorly-lit room (no flash)

- Price is WAY to high for such a medicore product

THE UGLY:

– The image quality is TERRIBLE. Even an adult holding it perfectly steady, the photo comes out blurred or choppy. Even though its a 480 X 640 picture, there’s no way you could ever print an image without it looking weird.

In short, invest your money in a used ADULT digital camera or find something else better than this…

Terrible camera!

This camera was a gift for my 6 year old. We had much trouble putting the batteries in it. We tried three different sets of batteries and could never get the camera to work. I returned it the next day and am now looking for a different one.

Durable but..
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter who loves taking pictures with my cybershot. I read the reviews online about this camera but thought i couldn’t be that bad.

Pros

The outer case is durable.

The buttons are placed where little hand can reach them.

Cons

Very little memory, Camera was full after about 15 – 20 pics. Of course a 3 year old will take pictures of any and every thing so that will not last long.

Viewer is fuzzy.

I would recommend buying a very cheap digital camera.

Button broke after 5 minutes
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I agree with everyone else as far as the low quality of pictures and of the viewing screen. In addition, the delete picture button on ours broke after five minutes. Literally. I am surprised to see the price of this camera, it is worth maybe $10.00, not $60.00.
