sound broke with in a few months
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
This was a Christmas present for my 4 year old daughter. She loved it at first, but after a couple of months of use the sound quit working. The “clicking” sound helps a child know that the picture has been taken and also adds to the fun. We cannot figure why it suddenly stopped working or how to get it to come back on- very frustrating. Now the camera gets little use. Also the picture quality is poor, regardless of sound.

Total crud
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
This camera takes terrible pictures. Terrible. The delete key shouldn’t make a fun noise because my kid likes to hit it to hear the sound.

great toy

my 4 year old son got this for Christmas and still loves it…it is so easy for him to use…it holds like 60 pictures. even though they r not high resolution it can be changed to higher resolution.with high resolution it holds less pictures and my kid plays with it too much.we are thinking of getting him a memory card because he has become such a good little photographer.great camera!!!!

Wonderful for 4 year old’s expectations
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I read all the reviews & still wanted to get it. He loved it right from the package. Everything is great for what I expected & for his needs. Yes the screen is small & Yes the photos are not so great quality. Buy Yes he doesn’t really care. He loves that he can take a picture with a totally user friendly camera. He has total control over the ones he can keep. He can review all the ones that he captured. Very happy that we got it & he is excited every time he uses it.

Great for 5 year olds!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My daughter really wanted a camera at Christmas, but we thought the kids’ cameras were too much money to spend on a 5 year old. But when her birthday rolled around and a camera was still at the top of her list, we had second thoughts. When I found this one for $49 I caved. It was well worth it. She loves her camera. It is easy to use. She takes lots of nature shots and even uses it for fashion shows with her friends. The best thing is I don’t have to worry about her 3 year old sister getting a hold of it and breaking it into a thousand pieces!

excellent first camera
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this for my 7 year old son. He wanted a digital camera like his older sister and this was a great choice for a first camera. It gives him the practice he needs to get the experience of a digital camera. It’s very tough for a little boy.

Not worth it for children over 3 years of age
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
It is a durable camera and my three year old likes taking pictures with it and copying his photographer mama. For any children over 3 years of age it is not worth it at all. My 5 and 6 year old each got one for Christmas and they were both disappointed almost immediately in realizing that they cannot print their pictures. Both of them have been asking for real cameras ever since that will allow them to print the pictures for their photo albums and hanging on their walls. We would have been much better off buying them a slightly more expensive real camera and teaching them how to properly care for it.

Very tough
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This camera works well. It’s very durable. It has a good flash. It doesn’t eat batteries. It’s blue (very important for boys, for some reason…B-). Now the small downsides. The image quality isn’t fabulous, but my son doesn’t seem put off by that in the least. It needs a fair amount of light to take a good picture, but again, that doesn’t seem to bother my 5 year old, and the flash takes care of truly dark places.

What is this camera good for. Teaching holding the camera still to take a picture. No camera performs well, shaking around. Why don’t little ones get that? Teaches image composition. They start to see what makes a good picture aesthetically (obviously my word…not his) pleasing. Helps them understand that pictures of people usually need to be close up to recognize the person…

The long and short of it? My 5 year old loves the camera and it takes the beating he gives it. I’m certain he’ll be ready to move up to a real camera in a couple of years, with no concerns, and by then, my 3 year old and 2 year old will be ready for this one!

Love it!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Great camera! My three and a half year old absolutely loves it. And talk about durable? He has already dropped it down a flight of stairs and it works perfectly. I was shocked at the picture quality after reading the reviews. Many people said you couldn’t even tell what the pictures are but that definitely isn’t true. You can see what the pictures are. I wonder if these people were really expecting the same picture quality from a $50 camera as a $300 camera.

All in all, awesome buy, My son loves it. He has taken over 180 pictures today and it’s incredibly easy to delete them or put them on the computer.

A good start
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This camera is well made with an auto shut off which is key for this age group. It is easy to use but the photo quality is poor which was disappointing. Overall a decent value but if you have an old camera around that you don’t care about I would just pass that down, it would probably work better.

My son received this last year. He still uses it today. Well worth the money. Comes with a USB cord and transferring pix couldn’t be easier. Bought one today for my 5 year old daughter pink of course for a Christmas gift.

Durable and fun
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This camera is very durable as they say but the picture don’t come out as clear as a regular digital camera. However, they turn out better than the cheaper models on the market. It’s a fun camera for kids I just wish the quality was a little better for printing the pictures off.

Perfect for introducing preschoolers to photography
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My husband and I purchased this camera as a birthday gift for my 4-year-old and she was thrilled with it. The design is wonderfully intelligent as it’s very easy for her to grip the sides of the camera, which also helps to keep her finger away from the flash. I also think the two viewing holes are ingenious as it’s much easier for her to handle than having to squint and use one eye would be.

The picture quality isn’t really anything to write home about but it does take pretty decent pictures. The flash doesn’t work all that well so a room has to be fairly well lit in order for anything to be distinguishable.

Using the buttons to looking through the pictures and to delete them as desired is also very easy. My daughter quickly got the hang of it and I often hear her scrolling through them and deleting the ones she doesn’t like.

Still, I don’t expect this to be a professional quality camera and it does the job it’s designed to do quite well. My daughter has had a lot of fun with it and it’s exciting for her to be able to take her own pictures and then to see them on the computer screen when we download them.

Son loves it!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Our son still prefers our cameras, but he has a lot of fun with his. It is durable, easy to use and produces the quality pictures or a little better than you would expect from a toddler’s camera.

childcare use
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I ordered this camera for teacher use in a childcare center. Teachers are required to use photo documentation of classroom activities. We had been breaking regular digital cameras on a regular basis. I would have prefered a camera with more megapixels, but this one does the job. As long as we print 3.5×5 or smaller, the images are adequate for what we need and the camera is very durable. The children enjoy it too!

Glad we bought this for our 3 year old
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
“Santa” brought this camera for our 3 year old son for Christmas. He had started playing with an old regular film camera but since he wanted to take LOTS of pictures, it would cost a fortune to develop them all at the rate he was going. We thought this would be great for him. We could put the pictures on the computer and look at them. He LOVES to take pictures. Now granted the camera doesn’t take great pictures especially when he takes them. He hasn’t learned about holding the camera still and all that. But if we take pictures with it, they turn out pretty good. The flash is tricky because it can completely wash out the subject of the picture but it doesn’t happen all the time. I do wish the camera took better pictures but it was for a 3 year old and he absolutely loves it. And being a rough and tumble 3 year old boy, we needed something durable… This is great!!!!!!!! Even though the picture quality isn’t great, we would ask Santa to bring this to our house again because it’s a big hit!

kid tough digital camera
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
“Santa” brought this camera for our 3 year old son. We were excited for him to have it because he could be a little rough, as boys are, and it wouldn’t break. To my surprise he was very gentle with it. He’s dropped it a couple of times on accident, but it still worked fine. It was very easy for him to use. He could hold it up and look at the screen (as grown-ups do) or he could look through the double eye views to see his picture. He learned how to review the pictures, delete them and turn the camera on and off by himself.

The picture quality is great for a toddler camera. I think when most people get this they expect the same quality as their own camera. Keep in mind this is for a toddler, who doesn’t care what the picture looks like, they just want to take them.

The camera holds about 60 pictures. I have a cheap 512mb SD card which holds more than enough for him to go crazy with pictures.

My computer picks up the camera as soon as I plug it in (I have windows Vista). I have no problems downloading the pictures (I think if people do it’s a user problem not a camera problem).

The flash does make the pictures really bright, and I have found that the best distance for taking pictures is around 3-4 feet away.

We have had our camera for 7 months now and the flash doesn’t work. The symbol for the flash indicates that it is ready, and even in a dark setting there is no flash. I would like to see a little more customer support available on these matters.

I know others who have this camera and they don’t have this problem, so it might just be this one (which is not unheard of).

Overall, if you are looking for a camera for your 3-5 year old I would say, get it. It’s kid friendly, the size is perfect for little hands, it’s easy to use and with the aid of a cheap SD card they can take hundreds of pictures at a time. Battery life is great, and the screen resolution is fine for a kid (they can tell what they took a picture of).

Not a bad toy, but not as durable as we’d hoped at the price
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
We bought this camera 15 months ago for our son’s fourth birthday. He was very excited at first, but he found the poor display kind of disappointing. When we put the photos on his computer for him to play with, he was a lot more interested, and we encouraged him to photograph mainly outdoors where the photo quality was better. (Only with absolutely fresh batteries did the flash work well.)

But, as so many have pointed out, we bought it as a toy and it did what we expected it to do.

Now, Jack is a pretty laid back fellow, and his camera didn’t take a beating. We worked hard to help him learn to use the camera as though it were an adults camera, since that’s our next step.

Nonetheless, after a bit over a year, the camera has stopped working. Very disappointing.

It’s a great first camera — just manage your expectations
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
We gave our son this camera for his 4th birthday and he enjoys playing with it. He takes lots of pictures around the house and enjoys playing them back on the viewfinder screen. It is amazingly simple — we taught him to use it in under two minutes.

The battery life is OK, not great.

Photo quality is definitely mediocre at best, especially in limited light conditions. Outdoors on a sunny day, it’s actually not so bad. I’m a bit of a photo snob myself, but I don’t mind the graininess of these pictures at all. Why not? Because it’s A TOY. It’s a way for children to learn a little about taking pictures, and a way for them to enjoy capturing what’s in the world around them.

I just downloaded 228 pictures from this camera onto my computer and reviewed them with my son. An archetypical shot was a picture of the doorstop that holds open our playroom door. This is the sort of thing a 4-year-old takes a picture of. So I just don’t care that it’s grainy. He likes that he took a picture, so he’s happy, and I frankly don’t NEED a high-quality picture of the doorstop, so I’m happy. Only a prodigy would be able to select an interesting subject, create an artful composition and capture a great image as a preschooler. So I think its lack of high resolution is moot.

Check customer images to see real pictures taken by my 4-year-old.

Giovanni’s Grandma
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Says….I purchased this camera to replace one that turned out to be less than durable when used by a 2 year old. Yes—I tried to get away cheap at first, it was for a toddler, learned my lesson didn’t I?

This one stands up to his manhandling of it and it is very easy for him to use. With the view finder that allows him to use both eyes to spot his subject he was using it like a pro right out of the box. The display screen gives a reasonable view of his pictures which really thrills him, and the camera connects to our computer via USB without a problem the resolution is about what you would expect from a toy and it takes better pictures outside in the daylight even though it has a flash. Hey he’s only two; it doesn’t take all that much to thrill him, he loves taking pictures of his dog, his grandpa and his matchbox cars.

The only thing I can even think of about a downside is that it is not the easiest thing to replace the batteries, but that’s for the grownups to do. It amazes me that my grandson knew exactly how to work the thing without us having to do anything but show him which button to click.

It’s nice but too big and heavy
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This camera is nice and durable but way too big and heavy to be carried.

The quality of pictures is not great especially on the small LCD. The memory is too small so you must download the pictures too often.

As a very first camera this product is ok, but once the kids get older they want something more similar to mom and dad,s camera..

not worth it
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I wish this had been better but I don’t think it is worth the money. The large size makes it difficult for little hands to manage, the delete button is annoying, the picture quality is terrible – forget flash photography. I’m sure you could buy a real digital camera for this price and at least be able to share and talk about the photos with your kids. It sounds good but my advice is to skip it and look for something else.

Love It
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love this toy. I purchased this one for my 18 month old son. I had purchased one for my daughter which she got in December and my son would not leave it alone. The fighting got so bad I had had enough and purchased one for him for Easter. The picture quality is good as long as the object you are taking the picture of is still. You can not take a close up picture it will blur out. My son being 18 months has throw this camera and his sisters and neither of them have been damaged. All and all this is a good starter camera the kids love seeing there pictures scrolling on the computer screen(screen saver) and they are an interesting conversation piece. Hope this has helped.

Fabulous Camera for Little Ones
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this camera for my son’s 6th birthday and he LOVES it! The pics are a little white washed, it’s true- but overall the pros really outweigh the cons: He can manage it all himself (and it’s really user friendly), he really loves having the digital display like mommy’s and seeing his picture immediately, and the camera is super sturdy and easy for him to use! I ended up getting a SD card so he could save more pics between uploads onto the family computer because once he starts clicking, he can’t stop- he has too much fun! The camera stores approx 30 pics- but with a cheap SD card the camera can now hold about 200 before it’s memory is full. Well worth it.

FYI: the pictures look a little worse on the display (it is only 1.2 mega pixels, afterall) than they do when you upload them onto a computer. We’ve even printed a few for his first photo album of his own shots and they’re really not all that bad. Overall, it’s a GREAT camera for little ones and I will be getting one for my nieces and nephews for their birthdays.

Great first camera!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My son loved taking pictures on our trip to Disneyland. The pictures were of ok quality but he was absolutely thrilled with them. That is all that matters to me. Very durable. We bought an inexpensive memory card and he can take loads of pictures without a problem. Battery life seems really good also.
