DO NOT BUY…if bought take back now!!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This product is horrible! My 6 year old recieved this present for Xmas and we just opened it today. You can not see out the viewfinder…it is like watching a bad digital movie..the people and object do not come into focus
You literally can not see what you are taking a picture of!
So we tried to download the pictures…such horrible quality!!
This is going back today!
The 3.0 Pixel Camera with Flash
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I almost didn’t buy this camera because of all the negative reviews posted, UNTIL it became obvious that they weren’t talking about this model. Amazon do something about this!!!
The camera works fine and provides adequate pictures. The flash indoors is a bit “hot” but most of the time my 5 year old will be takeing pictures outside. The picture quality is adequate as well. It is easy for my daughter to use and doesn’t have any games to distract her and run down the battries like other “kids” cameras.
Things I would change: I would add a distinct “click” to let her know that it is OK to take the camera down from her eye (she wants to look at the picture as soon as she has pushed the button). I would also ad a rechargeable battery that can be charged on the sync cable.
I can’t complain too much about the shortcomings of the camera as it was under $30. I spent $25 for a Polaroid camera that looked like a game controller and took .3 megapixel (640×480) pictures. This is a true 3.0 megapixel camera AND you can add an SD card if your kid really takes a lot of photos.
This review is for the Disney Pix MAX 3.0 Megapixel camera. Beware that there are Pix and Pix mini that are probably receiving the poorer reviews.
Extreme Disappointment
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
My daughter wants a digital camera more than just about anything. She received this Disney Pix for Christmas. The camera is a complete disappointment. First of all we had to go to the support website to find out the software that comes with the camera does NOT work with Vista, and they tell you to download something else. I followed all the directions (I am very software-friendly and have lots of experience with software so I didn’t think this would be a problem) and got the new software installed and everytime we try to download the pictures the software freezes and won’t do anything at all. After several very frustrating attempts at getting this camera to work on my brand new computer system (including uninstalling and starting all over again), I am giving up and getting her a different camera altogether. If you’re shopping for a child’s camera, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!! I wish I’d had the luxury of reading the reviews on this one before she got it as a gift, but I had no idea anyone was planning on getting her one. Now after the hectic holiday, I don’t even know who gave it to her, so I cannot ask for a gift receipt to return it!!
Thanks Disney / Digital Blue for creating a situation of disappointment for a 6 year old and making lots of tears, not to mention alot of wasted time on my part. I will never buy another Digital Blue product.
Not worth it
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Picture quality is horrible and that’s with decent light. Forget anything darker than a very bright room.
The overlay thing can be kind of fun for the kids but the almost indistinguishable photo part will keep it from lasting.
It’s fairly sturdy, more than a standard camera anyway.
You’re better off getting a used 1 or 2 megapixel camera at the same price.
For some reason I can’t give this thing less than 2 stars. It really only gets a 1 from me.

If you bought the camera for 49.99, you did not get the 3.0 mega pixel camera. If you paid 89.99, you got the 3.0 mega pixel and are probably happy with it. it appears the bad reviews are for the lower mega pixel camera. The two cameras look alike.
Absolute garbage

I bought this camera last year for my then six year old son. The camera has no flash and can basically only be used outdoors. Even then, the shots are extremely blurry. I’d be embarrassed to give this thing away. Pay a few extra bucks and get a camera that works.
Absolutely, positively garbage!

I purchased this camera for my 7-year-old Daughter. It looks like a cute little camera but the pictures that it takes are horrible. They are so blurry and so dark that you can hardly see anything. The camera doesn’t have any type of flash and it is badly needed. We even tried taking pictures in very bright light and the pictures still look like they were taken outside at midnight without a flash. I don’t leave 1 star reviews very often but I feel this camera is very deserving of it.
Disappointed

This camera is really small but has no viewer screen. We ended up getting a different camera for our 7 yr old.
Huge disappointment

As if you need yet another poor review to tell you to save your money and NOT buy this camera. I found myself wishing I could give this camera 0 stars! The image quality on the LCD is so poor – you cannot even tell what the photo was supposed to be of! Once downloaded, the pictures are grainy – as expected due to the low resolution. If you do not hold the camera perfectly still, the image is blurred beyond recognition. And let’s face it – what 6 (or 7 or 8 or . . . ) can hold perfectly still for any amount of time? Do not buy this camera. It will frustrated you as well as your young, budding photographer!
waste of money

I purchased this for my son, after buying one on constructive playthings for xmas that turned out to be junk. The first cars camera didnt even work so I took it back and exchanged for another… it wasnt even compatable with my Vista computer so I couldnt even download the software, you couldnt even tell when you were taking pictures, total waste and now I find myself looking for another one . . . ugh
Great for Children!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is an awesome beginner camera. It was the icing on the cake for my 5-year-old’s Christmas. Ironically, it was an afterthought of a gift, but it seems to be her favorite. She has taken pictures all day long! Pros- Decent price, considering it bares the Disney logo, few buttons (settings), therefore, more child-friendly, Software included is easy for children. Cons- design allows little fingers to cover the lens, underperforms on quality. Would I purchase for any child? I’d say perfect for the ages 4-7 years old.
More Chinese junk flooding the American market.

We bought two of these cameras for the grandkids, age 5 and 7. Sad to say, neither one of them got any pictures. One camera won’t even turn on, the other one downloads pictures via their software and then erases them, everywhere! The pictures disappear. I can’t say how the picture quality is because neither camera has produced any.
Piece of junk

This camera may be good for kids, but they can take better quality pictures on a cell phone. The viewing screen is terrible. The flash isn’t very good either. You need to take the pictures in a room with tons of light or outside in the bright sun. I was very disappointed, and I doubt this camera will ever be used.
Lovely camera for kids

this is lively camera for kids , but the screen is too small , and the resolution of the screen is really bad , but my daughter love it ..
So bad, I cannot believe it!

I bought three of these for my three children who love to take pictures with my expensive camera–so at $49.99 each that would be $150! I should have just bought a low-end real digital camera for them to share. This is the worst product and if I were Disney Inc., I would be embarrassed to have my name on it. The pics are grainy at best, but since you cannot possibly see what you are taking pictures of (due to the LCD monitor being neglible) what can you expect. Take a pass on this one. It is truly sad that this is such an inferior camera.

My 10 year old son got this camera for his b-day. He took tons of pictures while out of town, and once home we tried to load them on my computer. The software would not recognize that the camera was plugged in and after searching the internet I finally had to uninstall and download from the digital blue website. Once we saw the pictures we were so disapointed, all of the outdoor photos (about 90% of the pictures) had an overhelming purple hue to them. The indoor pictures were ok, as long as the camera was not too close to the subject (because the flash would white out the subject). Save your money, do not buy this camera.
Terrible product

The pictures are horrible. It is not worth the money. You can not even make out what you are taking a picture of on the display. Don’t waste your money.
Poor quality photos
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I’m surprised that they couldn’t get better quality photos in a $50 camera. The quality looked like my RAZR phone years ago. The flash made the photos way too bright and actually worked better without. My 8yr old loves taking pictures but it would be so much better if it took good pictures.
warning- 2 different cameras!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The link for two different cameras leads to the same page.
The Disney Pix Micro is very different from the Disney Pix Click.
I don’t have either item but I just wanted to clarify the reviews- I was very confused as to how people could notice different megapixels and flash on the same item.
Read the reviews carefully to try to figure out which camera you are reading about.
Great product for the money
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This product is a really great value for the money. The camera is a very cute design and the software made the product that much more fun! I have bought several of these cameras and it is really great to see the kids use this camera on their own. If you are looking for something simple and inexpensive for kids this is a great option.
Doesnt work with Mac
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The camera uses a proprietary USB that does not work on a Mac. I wasn’t concerned about using the bundled software, but it cannot be used with iPhoto either.
Great camera for a child

I recently bought the Hannah version of this camera for my daughter’s 8th birthday. She loves it! We haven’t really seen any of the problems that the other reviews claim, so maybe they were just unlucky and got a faulty camera. I’ve had that happen myself with a couple electronic devices I’ve purchased in the past, but I was able to exchange them at the places I bought them – and the replacement always ended up working fine (so it was just a manufacturing defect I’m guessing). This camera isn’t quite 1 megapixel, so it doesn’t take the best pictures ever, but what do you expect for a kids camera? Especially a camera that isn’t even 1 megapixel – I think if you expect a camera that’s less than a megapixel to have crystal clear pictures, then you need to stick with 35mm, or do some more research on digital cameras so you know what to expect and what you’re talking about. My daughter loves Hannah Montana, and she also loves stealing my digital camera to play with. The fact that I found a starter toy camera with Hannah on it was the main motivating factor for me, because now she wants to play with her camera more than mine….so I’m not going to complain.
Camera didn’t work out but supplier refunded.

This camera did not work out for us, but the supplier M Z Photo promptly refunded our money, so this was a quick and easy transaction. I would recommend M Z Photo as a great dealer.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can hardly see the screen, the pictures come out with terrible quality and it was difficult for my daughter to use.
