Excellent value!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Very recent purchase, and I’ve only used it on about 15 dives but I’ve been very pleased. The only issue I’ve had is a stuck shutter button at 85′ feet when diving a wreck. I had to power off between shots. It released itself at the safety stop and I noticed after the dive that there was a cut out in the clear plastic around the shutter button that I could have used to insert a pick and relase it manualy. It may have been due to the silty nature of the wreck interior and it seems to have been a freak accident – one that I now know how to correct without losing shots. I have no complaints with the Canon housing at all.
Lens spots and ruins all your pictures
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The case in front of the lens spots water. I had a previous case with the g7 and it was fine. This one if you take it out of the water you get spots on the lens now. I have tried everything to have the water roll off, for example rainx and dive antifog – but nothing seems to work. This ruined a lot of pictures I took on vacation when it was too late to see all the spots. If anyone knows a way to fix this it would be much appreciated!
Canon WP-DC34 Underwater Housing for G11
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Have not yet had a chance to use this housing underwater yet. But if I compare it to the WP-DC12 housing for the PowerShot A570IS, the I have every reason to believe that this product will prove entirely satisfactory. The buttons are large enough for fingers covered by 7mm gloves, without accidently pushing more than one button. The kit comes complete except for weights, which I feel should have been included.
