Great bag but too small
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I am a professional photographer and I debated endlessly about this bag. I wanted something that would carry my 5D, 24-70L and 70-200L with hoods.

Unfortunately this bag is way too small.

Further with the included lens hood, it is virtually impossible to pull a lens out of the bag.

Why did I give it 5 stars? While it didnt meet my needs I think it is perfectly suited for someone that owns a small dSLR such as the Canon Rebel XT/XTi series. The construction is top notch and it looks great. Just not big enough for a pro.

great bag….
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
…even though my 82 year old dad said it looked like a purse when he first saw it. I don’t think it looks like a purse, and I’m happy I bought it. Appears to be well made and holds my Nikon D50 with 70-300vr attached, an 18-70, a 50 1.8, and a small flash. There’s several pockets for assorted accessories, and the price was right. I think I paid right at forty dollars shipped, and the bag is far better suited to my gear than the lowepro slingshot 100 I was trying to get by with. I’ll admit it doesn’t necessarily look like a camera bag, but it’s classy looking, and it sure as hell doesn’t look like a purse….sorry,Dad…

The perfect bag for my needs
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Sometimes, buying something online is a crapshoot because you can’t see it in person–touch measure it, hold it. I searched and searched for the right bag for over two weeks. I still wasn’t sure until I received the bag but this bag was perfect for me. It had the right number of pockets. The size was perfect. The quality is excellent. I am very happy with my purchase.

Nice bag

The Tamrac Express 7 is a fine bag.

I use it with a Canon 50D and two zoom lens. Comfortable and looks great.

The longer 70-200 Canon zoom must be unmounted to fit.

Perfect bag for everyday use!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I own a larger Tamrac bag for storing my equipment/camera, a Canon 40, some lenses and a flash, but I wanted something that I could use when I went to family gatherings, sporting events, and places where I wouldn’t use or need all my lenses. This bag is perfect! You can easily fit a camera with a 6″ zoom lens, a spare lens, say a 60 mm or 50 mm and a flash. It has compartments for spare batteries and memory cards and when I use this bag, I can even put my cell phone in the side pocket and other stuff in the zippered front pocket so I don’t have to carry anthing else with me. It is perfect!

Good Daybag.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This bag just arrived and it JUST holds my Canon D5 with the Really Right Stuff attachment. It is a better fit than the last bag I was using. It looks like I can get my 70-200 in and another lens of good size and maybe my 50mm lens. Camera lives with an 85mm lens. Maybe my Lensbaby will also fit without the 50. It is not as padded as the last bag I had but seems sufficient, it is also lighter. It has enough extra space for notepads, cellphone and other accessories. Right now it is LOOKIN GOOD!

nice and deep. great bag.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This bag is great.

It is deep enough to take my nikon d90 with the 18-200mm lens AND hood in place. No need to take off the lens hood or reverse it. You can take out/rearrange some padded dividers if you like. I have no problems with the hood getting caught on velcro when I take out the camera.

This is not a suitcase; don’t buy it if you want to store a ridankulous amount of stuff in it. It is a nice camera bag that doesn’t look like a camera bag.

Plenty of room for battery charger, flash, and a few odds and ends. In fact, there is enough room to take the d90 with 18-200mm lens, lens hood, and sb400 flash attached.

NO problem with the bag tipping over like some other reviewer said. It’s very stable.

Nice big padded shoulder strap–it’s not detachable, but you can cinch it in and it’s out of the way if you prefer to carry by the top handle.

Plenty of padding.

Very happy with this purchase.

Great bag, not cute but definitely functional
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve had this bag for the last year and have gotten lots of use out of it. It’s held up really well and am happy with my purchase. This bag is not overly large or bulky but I’m able to fit a lot of gear in it. I can easily fit my Nikon D300 with 50mm lens, 35mm, 85mm, 105mm macro, and my sb-600 flash. I often have my Kodak Zi6 video camera in there too. The front pocket is quite roomy with plenty of spots for extra memory cards, filters, batteries, flash diffuser, etc. The only thing I’m not crazy about is that it’s not particularly cute or stylish but it so darn functional that I’ll let it slide.

Nice camera bag that isn’t obvious.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I was looking for a nice camera bag that wasn’t so obviously a camera bag. I like this bag for that reason, it doesn’t scream “camera inside”! That said my canon Xs with one lens attached and one extra lens fit fine. Even the third lens I plan on adding will be a good fit. Beyond that one wide angle lens will probably fill the bag. That is one camera body, one general purpose lens, two telephoto lenses and a wide angle is probably the max. I’ll agree with some other reviewers that the top of the bag doesn’t really have any padding which I would have liked to have. Otherwise I’m really pleased with the bag.

Comfortable, easy access and discreet
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
After trying a few box like bags, I looked for a messenger style bag that would be at once more discreet and efficient. The box like bags are more difficult to set up and waste space, unless you have tons of gear, in my opinion.

What I have in this bag:

D40 camera with attached tripod QR plate.

Kit lens 18-55

Lens 55-200

Lens 30mm prime

Small SB400 flash

Filters.

It all fits in perfectly. The D40 + 55-200 with the hood attached also fits in perfectly because of the depth.

Build quality is good and is comfortble to lug around.

Caveat: Other than the flap, there is no other, inner, cover. I.e. you open the flap and expose the camera. I was a bit scared at first, but the design works very well. There is a short tab on each side that helps contain your gear and makes sure nothing can fall out. This also explains why the carry handle is sewn to the back of the bag and not in the center/top.

Bottom line, everything is secure, but easily and quickly accessed, explaining why the name of this bag is “Express”…

NIce bag!, more then expected!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was considering between this Tamrac express 7 and crumpler 5 or6 Million dollar bag and I ended up choosing this one since it is almost only half of the Crumpler price.

This is a stylish bag that doesn’t look like camera bag, light, big storage room and lot of pockets for filters, cell phone, MP3..etc

Khaki color appears better than in the picture too.

I am able to fit

1.canon 350D with Zeiss Jena 35mm/2.4

2.580 speedlite flash

4.50mm/1.8

5 sigma 10-20mm with hood

6.canon 28-135mm/4.5~5.6 with hood

that is 1 body +4 lens + 1 flash !

this bag is way better than advertised. Highly recommended!

Looks great, does the trick
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this bag just before a week-long trip, and it’s perfect for my needs. Firstly, it doesn’t look like the typical camera bag, so I feel a little more confident with it in public. Also, the tall profile, rather than the typical short-and-fat look of larger bags, makes the bag much more comfortable to carry. This bag pulls directly down on my shoulder, rather than away from my body as my larger and deeper bags tend to do, so it stays on my shoulder without trying to slip off.

I store the following list of items in the bag, and it’s pretty much exactly full:

- Canon Digital Rebel (original verson) with 18-55mm kit lens attached

- Canon HF100, which is a very small SD-card based HD camcorder

- Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 non-IS. This lens fits perfectly in both height and diameter, though I didn’t include the lens hood or tripod mount, which would be difficult to fit. I would imagine that the IS version (which is a good bit fatter) would have trouble fitting.

- The wide-angle attachment for the HF100, several spare batteries, plus lots of cables and extra cards in the front pocket

One tradeoff with the generally vertical design is that you may have to remove items on top to get to items buried lower in the bag. This was a little annoying at times since I kept my camcorder at the bottom and the Rebel on top (with a padded piece between them), so I had to remove the Rebel anytime I wanted to shoot video. I consider this a reasonable tradeoff, however, because the bag is so efficient and comfortable otherwise.

The bottom of the bag is padded, but I put an folded washcloth at the bottom for extra padding because I wasn’t entirely confident in the built-in padding. The Velcro inserts are flexible for most purposes, and I was able to configure them to my liking without any tricks. Also, because the handle on the bag is placed at the back of the top flap (rather than at its center), you don’t have to worry about the flap flying open when you pick it up if it’s not properly closed. There are two additional flaps on the top of the interior (you can see them in the photo) that do a good job keeping light rain and sand out of the bag when it’s closed. I recommend this bag!

Got what I wanted…and more
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
arrived fast and looked great when I got it. The pockets are a life saver. I have used the holster style bags for a long time and I have no where to place my filters, extra batteries and other things.

I went to a wrestling match and I had my camera, (Olympus E-510) two books to read for school, battery charger, filters, and two cell phones. All of it fit very nicely into my bag. I didnt have to lug around more bags.

The main compartment is very customizable for any camera. I changed the configuration around to fit my camera more snugly since the factory configuration was not that adaptable to my Olympus. Its easy to carry and take out your camera in an instance.

Get this bag, its worth the money. And it doesn’t look like a camera bag.

Great bag!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This bag is great. I needed a new bag because my Tamrac Velocity 7 was no longer big enough for the camera gear I wanted to be able to take on the go. As with my Velocity 7, the Express 7 is of the highest build quality and is very well thought out. Inside of this bag I can easily hold my K10D, 18-55mm lens, 50-200mm lens, 50mm lens, 2 lens hoods, filter bag (6 slots w/ approximately 10 filters in it), filter bag with split ND assembly, external flash, charger, and cable. That’s all inside the main compartment!! The outside pockets hold my spare SD cards, a flashlight, macro filter kit, various camera cables, lens cleaner cloth, and foldable flash bounce, with room to spare!!

The design allows relative ease to get to just about anything in the bag. The bag is very light, yet large enough to comfortably hold all that I mentioned. It is not a huge bag though by any means, as it is only slightly larger than the Velocity 7 that I have. It’s comfortable to throw on your shoulder or over your neck to stay on your backside. I really can’t imagine a much better everyday camera bag. That being said, if you want to take your camera gear with you somewhere such as a snowmobile trip or something else that you might not want your gear just flailing about then you might want to consider something else (I’m considering the Velocity 8x for this). One other note, it does not have the memory card pockets with little red tabs that some other Tamrac bags have (such as the Velocity 7) which I liked. But there’s plenty of room for those to be thrown in the front pocket.

Good quality, smaller then exptected
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I needed a bag that does not really look like a Camera Bag, is small enough to carry around and holds my most important gear.

The Tamrac Express 7 came closest to what I wanted.

After the box arrived I was a little puzzled as to how small the box was but hey, it’s a soft bag.

The bag itself seemed a little small for my needs and I was not sure how I can make the stuff I needed to carry around fit. But to my surprise it fit OK. Snug but it worked.

Here is what I have in there (usually)

Left side: Canon 580EX Flash with diffuser attached

Middle Bottom: Canon 50mm 1.8 prime lens

Middle Top: Canon EOS 40D with Sigma 17-70 with hood

Right side: Canon 70-200L with hood

Various Memory Cards and stuff in the front zipper.

The overall quality of the bag feels very nice and it carries very well.

The reason I gave it only 4 stars is that I wish it was just a tad larger for todays SLR Cameras.

It works
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I got this bag for a vacation trip, it was compact and looked like a office bag.. that is a good thing for me as I don’t like bags that screams “Expensive Camera inside”, plus the price was on my budget

I was able to get my Canon 40D with a 18-200IS mounted, a Tokina 12-24 f4 with reversed hood sitting on top of my EF 35mm f2 on one side and my Flash Canon 430EXII inside its pouch

On the front zippers I had a Polarizer filter, memory cards, WB card, extra battery and a off camera ETTL cable

The Battery chargers (2, one for the Canon and one for the AA batteries) had to go in my luggage

That is a lot of stuff for this bag

The 40D is a tight fit, tall wise (viewfinder to the base of the camera) , I imagine that a Rebel would be a more appropriate candidate.

However I have to say that this bag is decently rugged, comfortable to carry on airports, parks etc,

offers some decent protection of my equipment, however I wouldn’t like to drop this bag to the floor.

I was also able to go to Animal kingdom carrying the 40D with the 18-55 kit, Tokina 12-24 and a Canon EF 70-200 f4 with reverse hood (again a bit tight, I don’t think the 70-200 f2.8 would fit)

I give it 3 stars just because is just not the right bag for me, I will eventually have to buy a bigger bag (which is something I was avoiding from the beginning) Maybe I just want to carry too much stuff in it.. well

I would say that this is a perfect bag for a Rebel with the two kits (18-55 and 55-250 IS) plus a flash.. in that case I would rate it 5 stars

A good bag, but not perfect for lenses with hoods
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The bag itself is well made and padded and has enough space for me to carry my two DSLRs with telephoto lenses (30D with Sigma 70-300 DG APO and 450D with 70-200 f/4L), and an assortment of extra batteries and memory cards. However, when the DSLR/lens combo is stored with the lens pointing down and the lens hood on backwards, it’s awkward and difficult to pull the camera out with one hand because the lip of reversely attached lens hood always gets caught on the velcro strip that runs about 2″ below the bag top, parallel to the bag top.

The shoulder strap also isn’t particularly comfortable, and the thread holding the rubberised area over the extra padding for the shoulder is already becoming to come undone (only had the bag for two months, and used it for maybe 3 outings). I’m going to go to a travel goods store and see if I can get a replacement strap.

Excellent bag
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was looking for a bag for my gear that didn’t scream “camera bag” and this fits the bill exactly. It looks like an unassuming messenger bag. Despite being very compact, it is able to hold a remarkable amount of stuff. Mine currently holds:

Nikon D300 w/ a 16-85mm lens (w/ hood)

50mm f/1.4 lens

85mm f/1.4 lens

70-300mm lens (w/ hood)

Tokina 11-17mm f/2.8 lens.

In addition filters, flash diffuser, shutter release, etc.

It takes a little getting used to. but once you do, you can grab the lens you need without looking or putting the bag down, change lenses and keep going. The bag is absolutely perfect for its small form factor. Yeah there are bigger bags that hold more, but for the mobility this offers without being overbearingly large it’s perfect.

Good quality bag
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a great bag. It looks very nice, is much smaller than I expected (in a good way), and seems very high quality. Right now all I keep in it is Canon XSi+lens and another lens but I have a ton more room. I could probably fit another lens in there without too much difficulty. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that the velcro partitions are a pain to move. The straps you detach keep getting attached again.

Tamrac Express 7 Camera Bag
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a great bag. i originally got the Express 6 but it turned out a bit smaller than i expected. therefore i returned that bag and got the Express 7. I’m just getting into photography and it holds everything i’ve gotten so far with room to grow….which i’m excited about.

The bag currently holds…my Nikon D40 with the 55-200 lens with the hood on in the center compartment. i have my 18-55 lens on the right compartment with room for a prime and currently the left compartment holds my battery charger. the front pockets holds a couple of filters and the remote with room for a few more things. extra zipper pockets are very convenient. the side pocket is perfect size for my Treo. the last thing is that it can slide over the handles of a roller bag. worked great when i traveled with it recently. best of all…it’s a nice looking bag that doesn’t look like a camera bag. highly recommended!

Great Camera Bag!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this camera bag last December in time for a Christmas vacation. Since then, I used the bag numerous times from weekend trips to my daughter’s softball & tennis matches. The bag is very compact but holds a lot of gear. It is well padded for the camera and for the user. Access to your gear is very convenient without compromising safety of your equipment. I carry the following in my bag:

1. Canon EOS XSI

2. Canon 70-200mm F4 L USM lens

3. Canon 24-105mm F4 L IS USM lens

4. Canon 580EX II Speedlight

5. Canon OC-E3 Off-Camera shoe cord

6. Sto-fen Omni bounce

7. Lumiquest pocket bouncer

8. Canon battery charger for XSI

9. Numerous AA Alkaline batteries

10. Extra battery for XSI

11. Numerous SD Memory

12. IPOD

13. Cell Phone

14. USB Cable

I recommend this product.

Bigger than I need
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I read reviews stating the Express 6 bag was too small, so I went for this one instead. It is a nice size if you need to pack around a decent amount of stuff. However, for me, it is actually bigger than I wish it was. I want a bag that I can just throw over my shoulder with just my camera and a lens, maybe two. This is like packing along a large laptop bag. Don’t get me wrong, it is nice when I need more stuff (like a full vacation), but for many short outings, I want something smaller. This holds my Canon XTi, kit lens, all accessories, and my small camcorder with room to spare.

If you need more room for a few lenses, or have a bigger camera than the XTi, you will probably love this bag. It is well made and very conveniently arranged.

As a mom, I compare this to my large diaper bag — nice for a long day or trip, holds all you need, but is too much bulk for a short outing or trip to the store. That’s what the smaller diaper bags are for.

I will probably use this as my “home base” bag, and get a smaller bag to use on a regular basis, pulling a couple things from the large bag as needed.
