This is a replacement for the similiar product bought more than 5 years ago. What an improvement. So much easier to use. I was very happy with the old one but it broke. The new one has many new featrues. Love it.

I am so happy with this product! It does just what I was told it would do and since I got a rechargeable battery with it I can take it anywhere.

Just thought I’d write a review somewhere for this product.
I bought one today at OD on special (last one left price), and I have to say
so far I am VERY impressed by the results. I have barely begun to use the features on it. Only printed 4 x 6 so far, but have used the cropping editor. Real easy to use. Have not tried the brighness yet,, we shall see, but the prints are much better then the same I did on my HP Laser printer. I am using the HP premium plus photo paper and the 110 ink cartridge, as recommended. The results are excellent. The colours seem to stand out. I will probably stick to the 4 x 6 format, but I will defintely be doing all my printing (at least for the best photos) on this printer. By the way I have not even connected it to either of my computers yet (an WinDoz XP and my main machine Linux). I may not even do so, since the printer has such a nice screen (even with my old eyes) and on screen editing.
ANyway its nice to find a product that lives up to its advertsing !! Great printer. I hope it doesn’t crap out on me like so many products do these days. If it lasts a couple of months I’ll return and update this review. Else I would recommend it !!
Easy to use, good photos

I got this printer so that my kids could print photos for their scrapbooking projects. It was easy to use right out of the box and produces great photos. They have so much fun using the special features to edit the photos. The stylus included makes editing the photos (writing captions, decorations) very fun.
I would definitely recommned this printer.
Waste of money & time

Never could get beyond the set up—won’t calibrate. Eternal online help with hp, has resulted in me having this for months with all the given paper used up still trying to calibrate. Now that I see how much I’ll spend in ink, I am hoping to unload this worthless item somewhere.
BTW—should be a 0 star rating.
Photo printing is a bit slow, fewer framing options than expected

Overall, this is a great product. The print quality is good (but this depends on the quality of paper you use). I love that I can edit the photos right off my photo memory card and that the printer is independent of my computer. I have been getting about 20-25 photos per ink cartridge. Negatively, it takes a while to print each photo, like a minute or two. We bought this for quick-printing for work events (think health fairs, children posing with characters, etc.), and it really is not condusive to that. I also expected more border options. The ones they have area really details…almost gawdy and childish. I’d just like some classic borders. For personal use, it’s great. The built-in software is nice without having to connect to your PC, but just doesn’t meet our intended purpose.

I love this printer. It works really well. Its super easy to find ink and photo paper for it as well. Its definitely cheaper to purchase the combo pack of ink and paper. You can even get it at Walmart. Definitely worth the money if you like to take pictures.

). This printer comes with everything you need, EVEN the USB cable! What a refreshing change in printer purchasing! The only con is that the cartridge that comes with this printer has a “10 print” limit as it is just a demo cartridge, my recommendation would be to buy the 110 cartridge at the same time you buy this (and the screen on the printer even warns you about the demo cartridge, so you aren’t surprised by that issue – good thinking HP!).

While I didn’t buy this from Amazon, I have to say this is one of the coolest little photo printers I have ever seen. It took me 5 minutes to be up and printing great quality 4×6 and 5×7 pictures from the time I opened the box, stripped off the packing tape and cardboard, loaded the cartridge, plugged it in and powered it on…connection to my PC and installation of the driver software was flawless (and wow, I have Windows Vista Home Premium, 64-bit no less

I received this printer for Christmas and absolutely love it. It is compact and very easy to use. The picture quality is amazing and there are so many fun features to add to your photos. I like how I can use multiple media devices to upload my pictures. This printer is not designed to print your family vacation album, meaning loads of pictures at a time. But if you have a couple of shots you want printed out for a frame or to send to friends/relatives this is a perfect printer. We buy the paper at office max and often they have a buy one get one free sale. We buy the ink online because we often find great deals compared to the stores. They are a little pricy which is why we gave it 4 and not 5 stars. Also great for scrap booking. Print and create pictures in minutes, no need to run to the store everytime you want pictures printed out. Thanks HP!
disappointing

When I opened the box and saw how cheaply this printer was constructed, I vowed I would still give it a chance. When I started printing out photos, though, I was completely bummed. Everything came out yellow, and no matter what I did, I could not adjust it. Also, it is terribly slow and noisy. Very disappointing!

FIRST IT’S EASY TO SET UP. LITERALLY MINUTES. SECOND NO NEED FOR A COMPUTER SO YOU CAN TAKE THIS ANYWHERE AND PRINT PICTURES AT A PARTY, GET TOGETHERS AND SO ON. IT’S SIZE IS CONVENIENT. IT PRINTS GREAT PICTURES. EASY TO USE EVEN MY GRANDMA CAN USE IT WITHOUT GETTING FREAKED OUT ABOUT IT. I CAN’T SAY ENOUGH GREAT THINGS ABOUT THIS PRODUCT!! LOVE IT AND WILL BE BUYING ONE FOR MY DAUGHTER FOR CHRISTMAS.

I got this little gem for Christmas, and I love it. I hear a lot of talk about the ink cartridges, but I have to say, the starter cartridge that came with it, printed about 15 pics. My daughter had the foresight to tuck an extra one in my stoocking, so I’m still printing away! It does print lab quality photos. They look fabulous. So many frames, clip art, design options…the possibilities are endless. I’m having a blast with it. Because of it’s portability, I took it to work, (I’m a neonatal intensive care RN) and took pics of a set of twins we had for the mother.
I jazzed them up a little…making a pink baby frame for the girl, and a blue one for the boy, then I used the text, and printed out their names and date of birth. The mother loved them! Everyone was impressed!

Prints beautiful color photographs – portable

I love this Compact Photo Printer by HP. It prints beautiful clear color pictures. There are many things you can do with the picture editing. It’s also wonderful to be able to take it with me to family gatherings. It allows me to print extra pictures for anyone that wants them. Great product!

The printer is really nice in that it’s a good, portable size and prints up to 5×7 pictures. The only downfall is that the pictures are printing darker than on the screen, so I haven’t figured out if it’s just a setting I’m not doing right or the printer itself! The original ink cartridge that came with it is still in there, and I have already printed 30 or more pictures so it isn’t going as quickly as some have posted (thankfully!). Overall, you can’t beat the price, portability, and capability this little printer offers! I’d recommend it for those who aren’t constantly printing, but like to print occasionally.
Looking for a one job printer

I just bought this printer for the purpose of printing pictures from my camera or computer. It was verry easy to set up & get working & for that Im glade. The print quality is verry good, it does take a little longer for the picture to print but Im not in that big a hurry, the results are great.
Not for your everyday photo printing

This is a great printer with lots of fun features, but the ink is far to expensive to use for your everyday printing needs. I estimate that the prints cost me about $1.20 per print. I can take my SD card to the corner drug store and have them printed for less than half that amount. If I had known the ink was so expensive, I never would have purchased this printer. Next time I will do my homework. If you just want to use this for special prints here and there, then buy it. If you are an avid printer like me… forget this printer.

After purchasing and returning a few HP Photo printers, this is the first model that actually worked. Be warned though, if you remove the print cartridge for any reason while it is still full, the printer electronically marks it as “used” and it will not print with that cartridge again. HP has decided that preventing customers from using refillable cartridges is more important than happy customers.

I really like the printer I purchased. I like the older model of the compact printer because the screen size is larger and much easier to look at. I do think that the screen size is a significant consideration when purchasing a photo printer. The printer is somewhat slow, but is very easy to use.
